Why we're writing this

If you've spent any time looking for escorts online, you already know there's no shortage of sites claiming to be the best option. There are at least a dozen major classifieds sites, a handful of review boards, some forum-style communities, and a constant churn of new entrants that pop up, gain some traction, and either stick around or fade. The problem is that most of the "reviews" you'll find online are either written by the sites themselves or by affiliate marketers who get paid to send you somewhere specific. Neither one is going to give you the straight story, and both have an incentive to make whatever site they're pushing look better than it is.

We're going to do something different here. We're going to review the major competitor sites honestly — what they do well, where they fall short, and where we think we do better. If we just said "we're the best, everyone else is garbage," you wouldn't believe us, and you'd be right not to. Escort Alligator

Escort Alligator is one of the more established names in this space, and they've built a decent user base over the years. The site organizes listings by city, which is the right approach — I've never understood the sites that try to organize by category first and make you dig for your city. They've got a reasonable number of ads in bigger metros, and the posting quality is generally okay. Some real providers, some decent photos, some actual personality in the ads.

Where it starts to fall apart is the smaller cities. Outside the top 20 or so markets, the listings thin out fast, and you'll find yourself staring at a page with three ads, two of which were posted four days ago and one of which is clearly spam. This is a volume problem, and it's the same issue most classifieds sites face — they concentrate their user base in the big cities and don't invest in building up smaller markets. We've taken the opposite approach at Listcrawler, actively expanding into smaller cities — we've added 78 new ones recently — because we think a guy in a mid-size city deserves the same quality of experience as a guy in Chicago.

The other issue is the interface. It feels like it was built in 2015 and never updated. Tiny text, no mobile optimization worth speaking of, and the search filters are basic to the point of being useless. If you're on a phone — which, let's be honest, most of you are — it's a frustrating experience. You're pinching and zooming, you're accidentally clicking things, the page loads slow on cellular. One thing I'll give Escort Alligator credit for: they've been around long enough that some providers trust them and post there exclusively. If you're in a major city, it's worth checking in addition to Listcrawler, not instead of. But for most guys, especially outside the top ten metros, the experience is going to be better here.

Skip the Games

Skip the Games is probably the most visible competitor, and credit where it's due, they've got volume. More ads in more cities than most of the others. If you're in a big city and you want to scroll through 200 listings, Skip the Games will give you that. The site is organized by city, the layout is functional, and the browsing is free. Those are the basics, and they get them right.

The problem is that volume without quality control is a double-edged sword, and in Skip the Games's case, the sword cuts pretty deep. A lot of the ads are recycled, reposted, or flat-out fake, and the site doesn't seem to do much to filter them. You'll see the same photos in three different cities with three different names, which is either a traveling provider or a scam ring — and the site gives you no way to tell which. You'll see ads with photos that reverse image search straight back to a model's Instagram. You'll see listings that were clearly written by a script, not a person. The volume that made the site popular also makes it a target for scammers and spammers, and the filtering hasn't kept up with the problem.

We take a different approach. Our listings are city-specific and we actively work to keep the fake and spam ads off the site. The result is fewer total ads than Skip the Games in some cities, but the ads that are there are real. I'd rather browse 30 real ads than 200 ads where half are scams. Every time. The other thing Skip the Games doesn't have is a built-in messenger. To contact a provider, you're using whatever contact method is in the ad — usually a phone number. That means you're texting from your real number, which is a privacy risk I'll get into more in the dedicated Skip the Games review. Our free messenger lets you chat without giving out your number, and it's the feature that gets us the most positive feedback from guys who switched over.

MegaPersonals

MegaPersonals tried to position itself as the successor to the old Backpage personals, and for a while it gained some real traction. The pitch was good: a clean, modern personals site for adult services, organized by city, with a layout that didn't look like it was built in 2008. And honestly, the design is fine. The layout is clean enough, the city coverage is okay in major markets, and the posting process for providers is simple. As a browsing experience, it's not bad.

But the site has two problems that keep it from being a serious option for most guys. First, the messaging system is broken more often than it works — you'll send a message and it'll just disappear into the void, no bounce, no error, just silence. You sit there waiting for a reply that never comes, and you have no idea if the message was delivered, if she saw it, or if it vanished. In a world where timing matters — the ad you're looking at might be gone in a few hours — a broken messenger is a serious problem. Second, the verification system is inconsistent, which means the trust level on the site is low. You never quite know if the person you're messaging is who the ad says they are.

Bedpage

Bedpage is essentially a Backpage clone that popped up after the original went down, and it shows. The site looks almost identical to the old Backpage layout, which is either nostalgic or dated depending on your perspective. I lean dated — there's a reason Backpage's design was what it was, and that reason was 2006, and we've learned a lot about web design since then.

The bigger issue is that the ad quality is genuinely poor in most cities. A lot of spam, a lot of duplicate posts, and very little effort to maintain any standard. It works okay in a handful of major metros if you're willing to wade through the junk, but in smaller cities it's essentially dead. I've checked Bedpage in mid-size cities where we have 30 active listings and they have four, two of which are obviously spam. That's not a usable experience.

We invest in keeping the listings clean across all our cities, not just the top ten. Escort Babylon

Escort Babylon has been around a while and has a loyal user base, mostly because of its review system. The idea of reviewing providers is a good one — it adds a layer of trust that pure classifieds sites don't have, and I understand why guys like it. Knowing that someone else has met this provider and had a good experience is reassuring, especially if you're new to this and haven't developed your own screening instincts yet.

The problem is that the reviews on Escort Babylon are inconsistent. Some are genuine and helpful — you can tell because they include specific details, mention things only someone who was actually there would know, and read like a real person wrote them. But a lot are either outdated or written by the providers themselves, or by their friends, or by competitors trying to tank someone's rating. The site doesn't verify reviews, so you're taking someone's word for it, and in this world, that's a risky bet. A five-star review from "BigDaddy69" that says "she was amazing, will repeat" tells you nothing. A three-star review from someone with a history of detailed, balanced reviews tells you a lot. But the site doesn't distinguish between the two.

We don't have a review system, and I'll be honest about why: reviews in this space are too easy to game, and we'd rather not offer a feature that gives a false sense of security. Instead, we focus on making the ads themselves transparent — real photos, real descriptions, and a working messenger so you can talk to the person before you meet. That's a better trust model than reading a review from an anonymous username that may or may not be real. You can verify a person by talking to them. You can't verify a review by reading it.

Adult Search

Adult Search is one of the older sites in this space and it shows. The design hasn't been updated in years, the navigation is clunky, and the mobile experience is rough. It does have decent city coverage in some regions, particularly on the West Coast, but the overall experience feels like using a website from 2012. The ad quality is inconsistent — some real, some spam, no clear way to tell them apart without clicking through each one and doing your own screening on every single ad.

Tryst Link is the newcomer that's gotten attention for its cleaner design and its focus on independent providers. I'll be honest — it's a nice site. The design is modern, the profiles are well-structured, and the focus on independent providers rather than agencies gives it a different feel. If you're looking for a more curated experience and you're willing to pay for it, Tryst Link is worth checking out.

The trade-off is volume. Tryst Link has far fewer listings than the bigger classifieds sites, and in smaller cities you'll often find nothing at all. It's also more focused on the high-end independent market, which means the price point tends to be higher across the board. That's not a criticism — it's a positioning choice, and it works for the audience they're going after. But it means that if you're looking for variety, or if you're on a budget, or if you're in a smaller city, Tryst Link isn't going to give you what you need.

What we think we do better (and where we're honest about our limits)

After looking at all of these, here's our honest self-assessment. We're not the biggest site. Skip the Games and Escort Alligator have more raw volume in the top-tier cities. We're not the most curated. Tryst Link does that better, and they should — it's their whole model. We're not the oldest. Adult Search and Escort Babylon have us beat on longevity, for whatever that's worth. We're not the only site with a messenger, but ours works better than most.

What we are is the best balance of volume, quality, and usability. Our listings are real and maintained across more cities than any competitor our size. Our messenger works, on mobile, without giving out your real number. Our site loads fast and looks good on any device. And our categories — from Max 80 to Escort Alligator mode — give you more ways to filter what you're looking for than anyone else. That's not a marketing claim, it's just the practical reality of using the sites side by side.

Where we fall short, and I want to be honest about this: we don't have a review system, and we know some guys want that. We're working on it, but we want to do it right, not just slap up a feature that's easy to game. A bad review system is worse than no review system because it gives false confidence.
